Description du produit

0.50mm DX51D Z120 Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil for Roofing and Building Panel Applications

1.Product Overview

0.50mm DX51D Z120 Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil is a zinc-coated steel product developed for roofing sheets, wall panels, ventilation components, building accessories, and general sheet metal fabrication.

The product uses DX51D steel substrate with a total zinc coating weight of 120g/m². The zinc layer forms a protective barrier over the base steel and provides sacrificial protection at exposed edges and minor surface damage.

The 0.50mm thickness offers a practical balance between panel rigidity and forming performance. It is suitable for continuous roll forming, corrugating, bending, slitting, and cut-to-length processing.

2.Technical Solution

The steel strip is cleaned and prepared before passing through a molten zinc bath. During the continuous hot-dip galvanizing process, a zinc layer is metallurgically bonded to both sides of the steel substrate.

The Z120 coating provides a combined coating weight of approximately 120g/m² and helps protect the steel against atmospheric moisture and oxidation. DX51D substrate supports common forming operations used in roofing sheet and building panel production.

Depending on the processing and storage requirements, the surface can be supplied with passivation, chromate-free passivation, oiling, skin passing, or anti-fingerprint treatment.

The coil can also be supplied with regular spangle, minimized spangle, or zero-spangle appearance according to the required surface condition.

6.Advantages

  • 0.50mm thickness provides suitable rigidity for roofing and building panel production.
  • DX51D substrate offers good formability for bending, profiling, and roll forming.
  • Z120 zinc coating provides corrosion protection for general construction and manufacturing applications.
  • Hot-dip coating forms continuous protection on both sides of the steel strip.
  • Multiple surface treatments are available for different storage, forming, and appearance requirements.
  • 508mm and 610mm coil IDs support common decoiling and production equipment.
  • The galvanized surface can be used directly or processed into painted, profiled, or fabricated products.
  • Standard seaworthy packing helps protect the coil during storage and international transportation.

7.How to Choose

  • Choose the thickness according to the required panel rigidity, forming radius, span, and finished product weight.
  • Select DX51D for general forming applications such as roofing sheets, wall panels, ducts, and building accessories.
  • Choose a higher-strength grade when the finished profile requires increased load resistance or reduced material thickness.
  • Select the zinc coating according to the service environment. Z120 is suitable for general construction applications, while heavier coatings such as Z180 or Z275 may be considered for more demanding outdoor exposure.
  • Regular spangle can be selected for a traditional galvanized appearance. Minimized or zero spangle is more suitable when a smoother and more uniform surface is required.
  • Passivated or chromate-free passivated surfaces are suitable for temporary storage protection. Oiled surfaces can reduce friction and oxidation during forming and handling.
  • Confirm the coil width, coil ID, coil weight, thickness tolerance, and edge condition according to the processing equipment before ordering.

8.FAQ

Q1.What does Z120 mean?

Z120 indicates a total zinc coating weight of approximately 120g/m² on both sides of the steel strip.

Q2.What is the substrate grade of this galvanized steel coil?

The representative specification uses DX51D, a forming-grade steel commonly used for roofing sheets, wall panels, and general fabrication.

Q3.Can the coil be used for roofing sheet production?

Yes. The 0.50mm DX51D galvanized steel coil can be processed through corrugating and roll-forming lines to manufacture roofing and wall panels.

Q4.What surface treatments are available?

Available treatments include passivation, chromate-free passivation, oiling, skin passing, and anti-fingerprint coating.

Q5.What spangle types can be supplied?

Regular spangle, minimized spangle, and zero-spangle surfaces can be supplied according to appearance and processing requirements.

Q6.Can the width be customized?

Yes. The coil can be supplied within the available width range or slit to the required processing width.

Q7.What coil inner diameters are available?

Common coil inner diameters are 508mm and 610mm.

Q8.How should galvanized steel coils be stored?

The coils should be stored indoors in a dry and ventilated environment. Packaging damage, standing water, condensation, and prolonged exposure to moisture should be avoided.
